About Morris County, New Jersey

The sixth wealthiest county in the nation, Morris County, New Jersey lies approximately 25 miles west of New York City. Morris County, created by an act of the state legislature in 1738, is named after Colonel Lewis Morris. The variance would have allowed construction of a Quick Chek facility on the site of an old gas station; however, the city refused to grant the variance in order to pursue a community revitalization effort.
