Spring Hill is a community which straddles the border between Maury and Williamson Counties, in Tennessee. It has a population of just under 8,000 people, as of the 2000 census.
Spring Hill is the site of the famous Battle of Spring Hill, of the American Civil War. Spring Hill was also the location of a manufacturing plant owned by the Saturn car company, but it closed in 2007. However, the plant re-opened in 2008, having been retooled to manufacture other vehicles produced by General Motors, Saturn’s parent company. But, the factory once again was idled, in 2009, causing over 2,000 workers to face layoffs, early retirements, and buyouts.
The legal community of Spring Hill is served by the Williamson County Bar Association, located in Franklin, Tennessee.
Given the troubled nature of Spring Hill’s economy, the auto plant in particular, there is likely a demand for attorneys who specialize in employment law. While a good employment lawyer cannot create a job where there isn’t one, he or she can help ensure that your legal rights as an employee are protected, and that, in the unfortunate event that you’re laid off, you have the best possible chance of collecting unemployment benefits, to help you get back on your feet as soon as possible.
If you need to hire an employment lawyer in Spring Hill, Tennessee, or any other type of lawyer, LegalMatch would be a good place to start looking. Essentially, rather than searching for the right lawyer, you can let lawyers who want to take your case find you.
If you need legal information, the LegalMatch law library has articles covering almost every legal topic you could think of.
If you can’t find what you’re looking for there, there are a few law libraries in Tennessee that you can consult for more detailed information. Unfortunately, the state Supreme Court’s law library was closed in 2008 due to budget cuts, but if you’re willing to make a relatively short drive to Nashville, the Nashville Public Library has some legal resources, as well as useful links on its website, such as the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee.
Finally, if you would like to do some more extensive legal research online, here is a directory of online resources covering Tennessee law. It has links to court opinions, statutes, attorney general opinions, and the state constitution. If you know what you’re looking for, this information can be extremely useful.
