Mr. Cohen’s passion to be a legal advocate for clients first started in while studying at the  Emory University and The University of Georgia School of Law where he graduated in 1972.

Most of his successful cases involve residential and commercial property disputes.  This includes court matters between between landlords and tenants. One of the most interesting cases he’s dealt with involves a landlord who went to the Superior Court and took out an “ex parte” domestic violence case against the tenants which caused the  tenants ejected from their home without a hearing.

The legal process of evicting someone requires filing a proper eviction action and may require a hearing. However, this landlord filed an action claiming that the tenant was a family member, which they weren’t, and had the tenants evicted  in the middle of the night. Mr. Cohen fought that battle and got a successful court ruling.

His Personal Motivation

Although Mr. Cohen did not have any inspiration when he first started law school, he is always focused on helping people. He listens to his clients and wants to help them resolve their cases. Prior to bringing a case to the court, he always tries to mediate and settle the case for both parties. This often leads to all parties getting something that they want and works for them.
