A stable job helps individuals settle their bills on time and provide for their families.  But what happens when you were wrongfully terminated from that job that you were trying so hard to keep? Empower PC, a law firm in the Denver metro area, assists individuals who need assistance in navigating employment laws.

By offering high-quality legal representation at an affordable cost, Empower PC offers legal services to ensure that those who need an attorney can actually afford one.  Empower PC believes that legal rights are meaningless if you are unable to exercise them.

About Christopher M.A. Lujan of Empower PC

Mr. Christopher M.A. Lujan, founder of Empower PC, began his career as a Deputy District Attorney in Weld County, and continued as a criminal prosecutor in the Denver City Attorney’s Office where he focused on successfully prosecuting domestic violence crimes. Mr. Lujan earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Northern Colorado in 1994 and earned his law degree from the Northeastern University School of Law in Boston in 1997.

Mr. Lujan was named Denver’s first Deputy Director of the Office of Human Resources in the 60-year history of the office. During his four years of service, he developed and assisted in the implementation of an office-wide reorganization that helped return more than $2.4 million to the city’s general fund without imposing layoffs or service disruptions.  From 2014 through 2017, Mr. Lujan served as the Deputy Director of Public Safety for the City and County of Denver where he was responsible for managing the department’s human resources office.

Why He Pursued Employment Law

After years of being a criminal prosecutor, Mr. Lujan switched his focus to civil litigation, where he successfully represented Denver’s city agencies and departments in employment law cases ranging from Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaints to personal injury claims.

Companies pressure people all the time, which is why Mr. Lujan has been interested with employment laws as most people can relate to the awful feeling of getting fired, disciplined, or dismissed from a job without legal basis.

LegalMatch provided me with access to make a pool of potential clients on a regular basis. The fact that I get anywhere from five to ten referrals a day in front of me of potential clients is something that I can't put a price tag on. So yes, I recommend the services of LegalMatch to other employment lawyers.

What Keeps Him Successful

As an attorney, Mr. Lujan thinks that being a lifelong learner and curious to understand how organizations work is helpful in doing his job well. He believes that an employment law attorney should constantly immerse themselves in how a company functions through its’ employees, its rules, and its practices.

Aside from continuous improvement, Mr. Lujan also believes that being flexible in terms of processes and time has contributed to his successes. He feels that he is blessed to have a lot of clients. That said, he may not have the luxury of devoting all of his time to just one case so it helps to be flexible with time management and terms of how and when you’re able to work.

Having experienced different jobs in the past made him relatable to his clients. He has been a horticulturalist, worked in Human Resources, in public safety, and finally an attorney. All of those experiences helped him relate to many people and eventual clients. He knows what it’s like to be an employee and what it’s like to have a “jerk” for a boss. He can easily sympathize and relate to people who have been treated unfairly in their jobs.

A LegalMatch Review by Christopher M.A. Lujan, Empower PC

“LegalMatch provided me with access to make a pool of potential clients on a regular basis. The fact that I get anywhere from five to ten referrals a day in front of me of potential clients is something that I can’t put a price tag on. So yes, I recommend the services of LegalMatch to other employment lawyers,” he stressed when asked what LegalMatch has provided for him and his firm. He admits he was a little worried at first because LegalMatch has been one of the most expensive bills that he has. But not he is confident in saying that, “LegalMatch has been worth the investment and more.”
