Attorney Newsletter
Welcome to the Spring 2005 issue of The Legal Chamber, LegalMatch's official Attorney Member newsletter. This issue promises to deliver valuable information regarding new LegalMatch products and services, and key information about new corporate developments.

In this issue:
New Financial Services Group

LegalMatch's new Financial Services Group is tasked with developing a series of offerings that can help small law firms and solo practitioners with the business of law and the development of their practices. Industry research found that it is often difficult for small law firms to get small business loans. A small law firm is a small business, and has all of the traditional needs and requirements of a small business. Financial Services is tasked with making it easier for small law firms to obtain credit for their practice. The Group will also assist law firms in setting up merchant accounts so that attorneys can receive credit card payments from clients, thereby making financial operations easier and more manageable for both attorney and client. More services will be offered in the future. To find out more about these new service offerings, contact the Director of Financial Services Group, Jeffrey S. Gananian, Esq. at (415) 946-0841.

LegalCenter Update

LegalMatch's January 31, 2005 unveiling of the LegalCenter, the nation's consumer resource for legal information, proceeded without a hitch and early response to the site has been overwhelmingly positive. The LegalCenter features thousands of articles in over 220 categories of law and hundreds of tips for everyday consumers to help understand the law and the legal process. If, as a result of reading an article or a tip, a consumer wishes to find an attorney, the site features direct consumer access to LegalMatch. As the LegalCenter continues to grow in size and scope, it will become a top search result on engines such as Google and AOL. As a result of the LegalCenter and other client-based marketing initiatives, LegalMatch Member Attorneys will be pleased to hear that January was a record breaking month for us, with over 22,000 cases presented nationally during that time period. If you would like to visit the LegalCenter, please click here.

LegalMatch Announces Video Case Study Program

As the industry leader in attorney/client legal services, LegalMatch is once again pioneering powerful new technology to give our Member Attorneys every possible advantage to secure potential clients. Though still in its development stage, the Video Case Study Program will allow Member Attorneys to speak directly to potential clients. As a VCS Program member, a short video clip will accompany each and every response message to potential clients. Member Attorneys will have the opportunity to speak about their firm, their mission statement, their background and professional expertise, or whatever they wish to communicate one-on-one to a client seeking legal representation. The Video Case Study will undoubtedly be a powerful tool, and will represent a significant advantage in the client engagement process. For more information about this compelling new program, please contact Lance Burton, Director of Attorney Relation Services at (415) 946-0829.

LegalMatch Celebrates Five-Year Anniversary

LegalMatch launched its service in 2000 as a Web-based exchange to help individuals and small businesses make educated decisions when choosing a lawyer. Since the company's national service was made available to consumers, many other legal information and/or attorney acquisition models have entered the marketplace; yet LegalMatch continues to dominate the marketplace for this category. Consumer activity at the company's Internet destination - legalmatch.com - spiked last year by more than 40 percent. Adding credence to the significant increase, consumer cases submissions jumped to more than 200,000 cases per year.

Become a Blog Contributor or Moderator

LegalMatch is looking for member attorneys interested in contributing or moderating LegalMatch sponsored Web logs (blogs). We'll be setting up practice area specific blogs (Criminal, Personal Injury, Family, etc.) and regional blogs for general law topics. Participating Member Attorneys will be reasonably compensated and/or experience a discount on membership renewal based on their contributions. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a tremendously influential and cutting-edge medium and expand your area of legal influence, build an audience for your expertise, raise relevant topical or ethical points and gain audience insight.
