The name of our law firm is Sandher and Lehman LLC. and my partner is David Lehman. I joined LegalMatch in 2014. I have a Family Law package for Philadelphia County. We go to other counties, too, but I like to focus in Philadelphia. LegalMatch is more than enough for me and my partner because it’s just us two. It’s all worth it!

More importantly, LegalMatch is not just about numbers or a percentage. It helps me come in contact with so many clients and with other avenues of law. It has happened to me so many times. I get a lot of referrals from my LegalMatch clients. People are giving me clients and are asking me to help their friends or other family members who have family law issues. So, it’s not just the first clients from LegalMatch but it’s a branch that really develops.
We don’t do marketing. Everything is word of mouth. LegalMatch is the only thing we use and we don’t pay for any sort of marketing for any of our practices. It’s definitely worth a try especially for someone starting off.
I would tell younger attorneys to narrow down what area of law they want to practice. Though it’s okay to practice in different areas, it’s good to know what area you want to sign up with LegalMatch.
You can start off slow in terms of location or just restrict your practice to one county at a time, like I did. In the beginning, I started off with Philadelphia then outside the county. Later, I became so busy, I couldn't do more than one county anymore so I just focused on Philadelphia. It’s good to focus on one location. I also get clients from other areas of law like personal injury.
Another good thing about LegalMatch is that you are not tied down with them for several years. When I first started, they had options of a one year or two-year plan. This way, you’ll know that it’s not going to ruin your business if it doesn’t work for you.
The LegalMatch System makes everything simple and easy. I have used the same templates when I first joined LegalMatch and I still use the same templates now. They’re very efficient! I can just send the templates, get the client’s number, and just make the call.
I don’t like technology. I just like going to court physically and meeting my clients. LegalMatch just makes it really simple for someone who hates technology like me. With just two clicks of a button, something pops up on my phone.
You can have as many templates as you want. You can have a child support document or a restraining order template. It’s very easy to make a template and just save it, whether it’s custody or divorce templates. It was really helpful for me especially when I was starting and I didn’t know any better.
You can narrow the templates down and just click and send it to your clients. You would make it in terms of how you want to structure your arrangements and also what services you can offer so that clients will know what they can expect. At the end of the day, the clients always want to know the fee arrangement.
To maximize your LegalMatch membership, get your templates ready and try to be the first one to contact the clients.
Based on my experience, I can say that if you will be the first one to contact a client, 99% of the time, you are going to engage that client.
I always contact them by phone and not by email because everyone loves using their phones. Everyone loves texting. Even with all that is happening with COVID-19, we are still so busy. We can do many things on the phone now, and it’s gonna be virtual in a lot of places.

With LegalMatch, I make around $9,000 to $10,000 a month. I would expect that for around 50 to 60 cases that are posted in LegalMatch, I’d like to think that I get about 30 or 40 of those in Philadelphia.
In a year, I’m probably making around $80,000 to $100,000 dollars. To be conservative, I charge around $1,500 a client. From that, my earnings have quadrupled.
My account manager emails me once a month just to check and see how it’s going and if there’s any concern. I appreciate that LegalMatch is always trying to evolve.
It’s hard when you run your own business. LegalMatch helps prospective attorneys who need to generate clients. This is a great avenue where we get leads from. I was so low when I started. This is something that’s really worth it. The client customer service is great!
