Medically prescribed for ¿ Ribavirin, also known as Virazole, is prescribed for the treatment of hepatitis C and also in treating severe respiratory infections in the young, such as SARs. Adverse reactions experienced ¿ Some common side effects seen in patients taking Ribavirin are skin rash, fatigue, headache, birth defects, and anemia (low red blood cell count). Ribavirin may also be associated with impaired respiratory functioning in infants.
