What I like best about my LegalMatch membership is that it's easy to manage. I would recommend a membership to others.
Iâ??ve had a good experience with LegalMatch. Iâ??ve gotten some new clients from my membership. Itâ??s given me a different avenue to a client base that I've been familiar with for many, many years.
The LegalMatch membership provides a reasonable means to get new, potential clients. The initial communication is something you should make good use of. I personally use it, but not to convince the person that I'm the one, rather I'm providing information. I'm forthcoming, fielding questions from the potential clients. I do find that if I immediately reply and send them a text message, the response is more determinative than basically responding with the standard in a response.
I'm one of those who've been lucky over the years. I get a lot of referrals in what I do because of my background in civil rights work. What I like best about my LegalMatch membership is that it's easy to manage. I would recommend a membership to others.
LegalMatch provides good support. The person who assisted us was able to resolve our technical issues quickly.
At this juncture, because of the unusual things that are happening both here in our country and the world (COVID-19), there's a lot of activity in this area of the law on a usual basis.
I think it's fine if you respond openly to potential clients, you'll clearly make your fee, as well as cover the cost of LegalMatch. So I think it's fair to say that for me it's been worthwhile.
Despite the COVID crisis, I do have clients contacting me. A lot of the potential clients from LegalMatch don't have time during the week to convene. So it's not unusual to meet over the weekend in the lobby at my high rise. We wear masks and we sit divided, but as a general rule, it's handled over the phone.
Within the last half hour, I got a call from someone I got a referral from yesterday. I immediately texted the individual. He called me at two o'clock and we had a nice visit and I told him I could not really give him a quote until I see the paperwork. So tomorrow, he's gonna email me the paperwork, get back on the phone. I'll give him a quote, how to pay it if he's interested and go forward. So, the reality is that most of us are finding new routines.
The problem is we don't have consistency coming from the courts, as far as how they're handling things during this crisis. Many of the judges are not coming into the courthouse. So we do a lot of Zoom hearings.
About half of referrals become clients. Within that group, you have a few specifically asking for pro bono help. So I'll talk to them and give them some guidance. And before I hang up, I'll give them details on how to call the local bar because we have a pro bono section there. I'm at a point in my practice where that information is free, they don't have to pay for that.
Weâ??re definitely living under different circumstances. Weâ??re finding and doing things differently, but weâ??re adapting to the new ways of doing, whatever theyâ??re going to be.
