I've been a LegalMatch member for five years. I do Criminal Defense and Family Law. I go back and forth between using LegalMatch as the major source for my clients and as a supplementary source. I would say that the investment that I'm making with LegalMatch per year is paid within the first four months of the year. I average three new cases per week and sometimes it's more than that. The ones that have turned into hires is probably one per month.

I would recommend LegalMatch to others. LegalMatch has a flat fee per month based on your contract, so it lets you lock in your LegalMatch subscription price. I think there are a lot of other lead generators now that are charging by the click or by the ad that you place. I don't believe LegalMatch asks for any additional money for clients that you sign up. That's how it differs from the other promotions that I've been approached with.

The challenge is really being able to know which clients you would want to take on. You really can't do that until you've met them in person. I recommend that, if you could take the case and you think you may want to take it, it's worth scheduling a meeting. You can do this through the LegalMatch portal which is nice. Get them in your office and meet face-to-face.

I think that LegalMatch has allowed me to stay in practice. It will continue to help me grow my business. On top of that, I can go to the LegalMatch site and see how many resources are on there. Those resources allowed me to move into other areas of practice that I didn't imagine going into. To some extent, it's been a blessing and a curse because it allowed me to dabble in a few areas of the law that I was not an expert in. At the same time, I'm more educated now than I was before. For new LegalMatch lawyers, you should know how today's clients are finding their lawyers. Imagine someone who's never talked to a lawyer before but needs one and fills out a case intake form online. To be able to have all the information that LegalMatch screens from their case submission process is time that's well saved. It allows an experienced attorney to quickly screen clients to know if it's a client they would like to take or if it's a matter that is not that suited for their practice.

Make sure that you check the referrals every day or at least every 48 hours and respond accordingly. I also suggest they set up templates that are provided by LegalMatch to shorten the response time.

LegalMatch Is Keeping Me Well-Informed Regarding Lawyers, Clients, and Marketing

I think talking to the LegalMatch representatives over the years has given me a good survey of what's going on nationwide with lawyers and marketing. The LegalMatch portal has been beneficial. The more I use it, the more information I can find there. It has helped me think about what it's like to be a client that needs a lawyer but doesn't know any lawyers.
