Great Exposure to Build a Strong Legal Practice

I've been a partner with Legal Match for a number of years, and I get a wide variety of exposure to a number of different cases where people are seeking counsel for medical malpractice. And LegalMatch gets my name out there, too. It also exposes me and my clients to my real immediate medical malpractice needs. I've had a wide assortment of cases through Legal Match that has been wonderful cases. I've helped a number of wonderful people. Over the years I have had significant cases, through LegalMatch that resulted in 7-figure cases. So, the bottom line is, from a business standpoint, it's been very lucrative for me.

LegalMatch is an Excellent Tool and Support

LegalMatch support has always been there for me when I needed support. LegalMatch intake is very good. You get a condensed overview of the cases. You get a view, you kind of get a 30,000-foot view of the case along with information about the potential plaintiff that is useful in trying to evaluate a case. So, it's a time saver for me because you get to view a lot of cases and the ability to manage your time a lot better and get screened through the valuable viable cases versus those that are not sustainable either because of some legal issue or medical issue or because of the nature of the injury. I get leads daily from LegalMatch. Maybe a day or two where I don't get them, then I'll get three or four. I get multiple leads per month.

If lawyers go with LegalMatch and use this tool, it can be very helpful. If you use it properly and you educate your clients and you make wise decisions about those chase cases that you choose, I think this is an excellent tool to have.

General Attorney Tips & Advice

I think similar to what I've just said is that, and that is, early, as near as possible to immediate, response, educating the client about what needs to be done and educating them about the law and then involving them in discretionary decisions and involving them and the ongoing efforts in the case and expert retention and that sort of thing. I think that kind of interaction and that kind of immediate response is what makes clients happy and I think would in turn, make you happy with the kind of success you have with your clients.

One thing I would say is that running a successful business is just that: running a business. And, I think in the past, a lot of times I've run with decisions from the heart that is that where I really liked a client, and, because I liked them so much, it kind of shaded my view on the strengths of their case. Obviously, having a good client, a good plaintiff is important to have in front of a jury because we all know how difficult it is to bring a case where you have a plaintiff that's not likable or is difficult. But it is a business. So, when you review your cases and analyze your cases, don't let your passion for a particular client shade your view on the realities of a case.

I think, at times I've been hard on myself, and the instances where I may have lost or not gotten quite the value I'd hoped to get on a case, and maybe you beat myself up. I think now I'm more inclined to know that I'm doing my best and if the outcome wasn't exactly as I had planned, then, acknowledge that that's a lot of times, just the nature of life and not beat myself up as I maybe had done in the past.
