I calculated my return on investment and this year it's in the ballpark of five to one or six to one. In other words, I get a return of five or six dollars for every dollar I invest in LegalMatch.
I have been practicing for 10 years now and I have also been with LegalMatch for nine or ten years. I was contacted shortly after I started out in practice. I created a website and within a month, someone from LegalMatch found it and contacted me. I was cautious at first, but I still gave it a try and it did work out.
I’m a solo practitioner and I'm not infinitely wealthy, so I have to be cautious about where my advertising dollars go. If I'm going to pay for marketing promotion and advertising, it has to get results. It has to get me more than what I'm paying for and LegalMatch does. In my experience, it does get results. What else could you ask for from a business investment?
I would recommend LegalMatch to others and I would advise people not to be passive about it. Respond to all the postings you get at the very least. Respond through the mobile app or the website. Try to do a phone call rather than just an email because the email could always just go to spam.
It's not a passive investment. Take what LegalMatch gives you and follow up on it. Don't be a nag, just do some basic follow-up and carry through. It could be a good investment if you work the system.
I respond to all the ones I have time for and then I call or email them. I then put it in their hands if they want to get back to me. Enough folks do so that’s why I say LegalMatch is worthwhile.
I calculated my return on investment and this year it's in the ballpark of five to one or six to one. In other words, I get a return of five or six dollars for every dollar I invest in LegalMatch. So, a straightforward business question is, “Is this worth what you're paying for it?” and the answer is yes.
If other attorneys’ experience would be like mine, it can be a good return on investment. It can be a good introduction to new clients and to my mind, it's just sensible marketing and a good tool for business growth.
Don't let it be a passive investment. It's not just pay LegalMatch and then watch your inbox fill up. Call the potential clients and email them. Just follow up; it can work if you follow through.
LegalMatch can make a good business investment. It can get you enough clients to be more than what you're paying LegalMatch.
There is a bit of a multiplier effect. LegalMatch makes the introduction, and if things go well and happily as they usually do, then the people remember you and then they might contact you when another relative needs a will, dies, starts a business, or when they want to amend their will. So in addition to just making the connection between me and new clients who want help in my field, they stick around if things go well and they're available for more business later on.
I am surviving this pandemic. There have not been big spikes in business nor have there been big drops. I’m incredibly grateful that my business is weathering Covid intact.
I have the LegalMatch app and I get a notification through the app and separately through my own email when someone has posted a case. I have about half a dozen templates where I don't have to type everything every time I get a case.
It's a good introduction service or lead generating service. I know it's free to the clients and they just make the decision to create an account and input their story and their legal situation. Obviously, I pay for access to that list, so it's good in that regard.
Often, people want a will or a trust when a friend or family member has died. I can just insert specific information into some of the ready-made templates.
The LegalMatch support team is diligent and responsive, too, though I don't need much support. I've got my templates, I've got my profile set up, I've got a couple of decent reviews on LegalMatch. I filled out the profile. I still get the monthly check-in calls or email, but on the whole, I'm low maintenance to LegalMatch. I just don't need much from them. I pay my bill, I get the service and it's worthwhile, so I'm happy.
As a pure business decision, it returns a good deal more than I invest into it. I stay busy and it makes more than it costs, which I think that's about as much as you can expect from any business investment.
I get to meet all kinds of nice people. Enough of the people who post their cases on LegalMatch end up contacting me. Whatever that percentage is, it's enough to be worth my while. There's probably five to seven referrals in a week. Sometimes, it looks like in the ballpark of six to ten.
In some weeks there are more than others, but it's typical to get roughly one per day and sometimes two or more. More recently I have noticed that the numbers have gone up during the pandemic. There have been stretches with fewer leads, but there are more now, to no surprise because people are home on their computers more.
Approximately 1 in 20 has turned to an actual client. It doesn't sound like a lot, but even if it is just one in 20 or so, it’s enough for this to still be a good investment.
