In the News: A few years ago, a Rockdale County man won an infamous trademark lawsuit against Wal-Mart. The lawsuit arose when the man set up a website called "Walocaust," a parody of the Wal-Mart store name. The Rockdale County man claims he started the website to show that behind all the wars and bankruptcies around the world, corporations sat by and made profits. Wal-Mart sent the man threatening letters in 2006, so the man sued the company seeking to continue using his domain name. In the lawsuit, Wal-Mart countersued for trademark infringement. The Rockdale County man eventually prevailed when the judge presiding over the case ruled the domain name was protected speech.
