In the News: A Montgomery County court recently ordered one of the nation’s largest health care providers to pay a doctor $1.4 million in a wrongful termination lawsuit. The doctor was fired because he refused to illegally drum up patients for the health care provider’s rehab center located in Houston. A Montgomery County jury found that the health care provider had fired the doctor in bad faith and ordered the company to pay him $400,000 in lost wages and earnings, $65,000 for mental anguish, and an additional $1 million in damages.
