What is Ritalin?
Ritalin (methylphenidate) is a stimulant that is most commonly used to relieve Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and other psychological disorders.  Ritalin supplements the brain with dopamine, a neurotransmitter that is vital to brain function.  While Ritalin has worked effectively since its inception, there have been questions raised about Ritalin’s purpose and side effects.

What are some Side Effects?
The side effects have been difficult to identify and questionable at best.  Possible side affects include:

  • Addiction – similar to cocaine and crack addiction
  • Abnormal brain development if dosage not regulated
  • High blood pressure
  • Hallucinations
  • Depression

What Can I Do if My Child was Prescribed Ritalin?
If your child has been injured by Ritalin you should contact your doctor immediately.  You may also wish to contact an experienced products liability lawyer.  A products liability attorney can help you recover damages for the injuries Ritalin caused your child.
