Presenting a case on LegalMatch is quick and easy. The process only requires you to
provide your name, contact information and e-mail address. It also prompts you to
create a username and password for creating your LegalMatch account.
Why Present a Case?
As a registered LegalMatch user, you will have access to your own personal Home Page
where you can track your case(s), lawyer ratings, and other valuable information. You
will also be able to get contact information for registered LegalMatch lawyers who
respond to your case.
Things to Consider when Registering
It is important that you protect your password. You'll need it every time you want to log
in to LegalMatch. Your password should be something that's easy for you to remember but
difficult for others to guess. In case you forget your Username or Password, click on the
'Forgot your Password?' link just under the log in button.
Your identity will not be revealed. Your name and e-mail address will
be used for notification purposes, such as when a new response is made to your case. Your
identity will not be revealed until you decide to release it to lawyers.
If you Choose to Release your Contact Information:
You may be contacted by multiple lawyers if you choose this option.
You may wish to hear all responses of service before making a decision.
Even if you choose to release your contact information to interested lawyers, you should log
in to LegalMatch and check your home page for responses. Lawyers making a response may not
have had time to contact you yet, but you may look at their response message, view their
profile, e-mail them and access their contact information. You will have a better understanding
of their response message when they call.
If you accept a lawyer's response, be sure to log in to LegalMatch and click the "Retained"
button adjacent to your lawyer's name. This will indicate to other lawyers that you have made
your choice of a Legalmatch lawyer.
If you Choose to Keep your Contact Information Confidential:
You will be immediately alerted by e-mail that an interested lawyer has responded to your case.
After logging in to your LegalMatch home page you will be able to review any response that
interested lawyers make to your case.
View interested lawyers' profiles and learn about their qualifications, education, and background.
View interested lawyers' ratings made by LegalMatch users like yourself.
Contact interested lawyers by phone, e-mail or have LegalMatch contact them on your behalf.
If you accept a lawyer's response, be sure to log in to LegalMatch and click the "Retained" button
adjacent to your lawyer's name. This will indicate to other lawyers that you have made your choice
of a Legalmatch lawyer.
As a registered LegalMatch user, you make the decision about which lawyers, if any, to contact.
