Little Rock is the capital of Arkansas and boats the largest population in the state, with about 187,450 residents.  Little Rock is located in central Arkansas and is the county seat of Pulaski County.  Little Rock was named for la Petite Roche, a small rock configuration located on Arkansas River’s south bank, which served as a landmark to the river’s early explorers.  Western Little Rock sits amidst the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains.  The Pinnacle Mountain and Lake Maumelle lie northwest of Little Rock, the latter supplying water for the city’s residents.

Little Rock’s economy was rated the second most diverse economy in the US by Moody’s Investor, and Little Rock was rated the twenty second best metropolitan area for business by Forbes.  The Little Rock port serves as a large industrial complex and has been authorized as a Foreign Trade Zone.  Furthermore, major corporations such as Dillard’s, Acxium, and Metropolitan National Bank built their headquarters in Little Rock.

Little Rock is also the former home of William Jefferson Clinton, the forty-second president of the United States.  Although Clinton was born in Hope, AR, he spent many years in Little Rock.  After earning his Juris Doctorate from Yale, Clinton taught at The University of Arkansas School of Law.  Later, Clinton served as Little Rock’s Governor as well as Arkansas’ Attorney General.  Clinton still has a strong presence in Little Rock; for example, the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum and the William J. Clinton Foundation honor Clinton’s many achievements.
