Recently, the Anne Arundel Circuit Court dismissed Laurel Park’s attempt to have its disqualified bid for a gambling license reinstated. It was expected that Laurel Park would be granted a gambling license as part of a plan to revive Maryland's waning horse racing industry. Judge William C. Mulford II sided with Maryland officials, who disqualified Laurel’s license application because the track’s now-bankrupt owners failed to submit the required application fees. It is not clear if Laurel Park will accept or appeal the decision.
