LegalMatch Attorney Websites are feature laden. This FAQs list will give you a better idea of what makes our website product and service superior to both one size fits all, template driven, web hosting and high-end agency/design shop websites costing $5,000 and up.
How long does it take to build my site?
Typically the time frame is 2 to 4 weeks, with 3 weeks being the average. The time frame is really contingent on your (the attorney or staff) availability for the design interview, the initial design review (we will submit 3 initial designs for you to consider), the final design review, and in the creation and review of content for your site before launch.
Are we able to make updates to our own website?
You will be able to make updates through your LegalMatch Marketing manager. Most text content and editing can be accomplished in real time while on the phone with your marketing manager. Alternatively, you can email your marketing manager a detailed change/update request. The changes will be made in one business day or less. Adding photos/images to your site must be done by email, allow one to two business days upon receipt. Adding additional pages can usually be accomplished in one to two business days depending on content and overall site design. Implementation of a content management system (CMS) to facilitate end user updates in real time is being considered if the demand is there. However we feel that with our elevated level of customer service, having LegalMatch staff perform the updates is going to be the preferred method.
Who is responsible for registering the URL?
If you do not already have a domain name, LegalMatch will handle the necessary paperwork. We will register for the maximum period allowed (10 years). There is no additional cost for this. We can also aid in the research of an appropriate domain name if your first choice is unavailable. Your domain name is yours to keep should you end the relationship with LegalMatch Attorney website Services; the cost is $50 to transfer it to a registrar or hosting service of your choosing.
I already have a domain name, how does that work?
If you do already have a domain name, we can facilitate in getting the domain name servers updated so it points to your new website.
What happens to the website if we cancel the agreement?
Your agreement is month to month. We need a minimum 10 days written notification prior to your billing date to terminate the billing. Your site can remain live until the end of the billing cycle unless you request that it can be taken down immediately, in which case it will removed from the Internet within one business day. The design rights remain property of LegalMatch.
What happens to my domain name if I cancel?
The domain name is yours to keep and can be transferred to your designated assignee upon written request and a transfer fee of $50. We can terminate the agreement for any violation of our website hosting agreement.
Are there any automatic renewal periods?
Your website agreement is a month-to-month service which ends when you notify us 10 days before the billing cycle date.
What about search optimization?
All LegalMatch web sites receive a basic search engine optimization (SEO). This includes page specific title, meta description, and meta keywords and appropriate keyword density check of the editorial copy. Also included is site submission to the four major search engines (Google, Yahoo!, MSN and ASK) and sitemap submission and site verification with Google and Yahoo!
How about email? Can I have more than one email address?
Up to five email accounts are included with your website. Each email address will include your domain name, e.g. your.name@yourdomainname.com.
How about accessing my email? What are my options?
We will provide all the information to you for setting up your email accounts in Outlook or other email program. We can also set you with webmail, allowing you to access your account anywhere Internet service is available.
Can we include links to other sites we have used for specific cases or practice areas?
Yes, you may link to as many sites as you wish. Just provide the exact URLs (www.link-to site-name.com), the page and exact words to link from, and whether you want the link to replace your site or open in a new window.
Who hosts the websites?
LegalMatch hosts the sites on a dedicated server maintained by a 3rd party hosting service. Your web site is backed up every 24 hours.

What is the maximum storage size that the website can be?
1GB, email and web files combined (generally, most websites are 50 Mb or less).
Does the website require a minimum or maximum bandwidth for traffic to or from the website?
There is no minimum - if your site traffic exceeds 1 Gb of a month routinely, we may ask that you support the cost of dedicated server for your site, however the cost would not exceed an additional $60 a month. If that were the case, your email storage limits would increase tenfold.
What information as the website host is LegalMatch responsible for keeping in relation to the site?
All files that uploaded to your site. LegalMatch is not responsible for email storage on your mail server. You may leave email on the server for as many days as you specify in your email program, however if your storage (website and email) exceeds 1GB, email it may be subject to deletion.
Can the LegalMatch provide daily, weekly and/or monthly site usage reporting and how much does this cost?
We can set you up with a detailed reporting system for your site using a 3rd party statistics company. You will be provided with a user name and password. Cost ranges from $5 to $20 per month depending on your anticipated traffic and/or storage of reporting data.
