Professional Overview
Carrington M. is a rather new attorney. She graduated from the University of Northern Florida Jacksonville, FL; obtaining her BS in Sociology with a minor in Accounting. She attended the Florida Coastal School of Law 2003 Jacksonville, FL where she received the prestigious Barbara McCalla Memorial Award. Also, she’s was a proud member of the Legal and Community Services to Those in Need. In 2004, she passed the Florida State Bar where she is now licensed to practice. Along with her assistant, paralegal, receptionist and associate, she has been able to grow her practice. With the help of LegalMatch, she has been retained by 54 clients so far, roughly billing out more than $100,000.
Skeptically, she joined LegalMatch back in December of 2004, but her skepticism ended when she saw a positive ROI on her investment within the first three months as a LegalMatch Member Attorney. Carrington M. says, “LegalMatch has been a considerable aid in helping get through first two years of her practice,” the hardest time in a young attorneys career.
Jacksonville has its fair share of legal needs but not all the good cases are right in the city limits. Some of her best cases come through LegalMatch from the surrounding areas, which she could not have effectively reached with normal marketing constraints (such as with the yellow pages). Her business motto is “Caring representation for your sensitive needs,” and LegalMatch has connected her to many sensitive cases. The most memorable of which was a termination of parental adoption case wherein the father was not only a criminal but a pedophile as well. He was previously incarcerated for a lewd and lascivious assault on a 12 year old. When Carrington M brought this up in court, he corrected her saying the child was not twelve, she was seven. He said he was too drunk and high to remember the allegations. He is now facing 9 years in prison and the represented child is safe and well cared for.
Carrington likes the energy of a busy practice but she never loses interest in her clients. Helping more and more people is the catalyst behind the highly energized environment she thrives in. Since being in practice, she has received the Young Lawyer of the Year Award in 2005
