Professional Overview
In June of 2005, Dean M. won a raffle and received a three month trial membership to LegalMatch. At first, he wasn't thrilled with his prize. Today, it's a different story.
Upon hearing the news of his win, Dean said, "He would give us a shot and see how it went." He was immediately impressed with the system, and he renewed before the end his trial for a three year membership. Today, Dean says, "There are people constantly posting cases into LegalMatch and you can respond to the steady stream of clients every week." To date, he's retained by 19 LegalMatch clients, and he's been very selective on the cases he replies to.
After attending the University of Missouri, in Saint Louis, Missouri, he went on to Law School at Saint Louis University. He passed the Missouri State Bar in 1997, where is currently licensed to practice.
To Dean, the LegalMatch system is user friendly for both clients and attorneys. He believes that LegalMatch is "a very good business," and a very good business idea. Dean continues, "The electronics of the system are great enabling you to easily represent cases from other locations." This would be impossible using only traditional client intake methods. He is currently representing a client from as far away as Boston. Clients from LegalMatch represent 50% of his clients and 40% of his total billable hours.
In short, Dean views his relationship with LegalMatch as an excellent partnership aimed at helping him achieve his mission. He knows that the Law and the Courtroom experience are stressful and expensive. He tries to minimize those effects on his client and their family. Dean says, "I encourage a high degree of communication among the parties and attorneys. If possible I encourage parties with legal issues to work together amicably as much as possible and often suggest mediation."
He is still searching for that perfect balance between amount of work and free time, and with LegalMatch in his corner, he's well on his way. Quality of cases, quality of clients, quality of life-to Dean, they are all equally important.
