Burton P. wasn’t always a fan of LegalMatch. “Initially, I was disappointed with the service,” recalls Burton, a family law attorney in the Chicago area, “and I was a bit apprehensive about having dropped so much money for a long term contract.” In the first few months of Burton’s membership, the attorney struggled to engage clients while trying to determine exactly what the glitch was. “I realized that I was relying on templates too much,” recollects Burton. “LegalMatch clients are a special breed, and once I understood how well potential clients responded to individual case offers, the service really took off for me.” And take off it did. Burton estimates that he’s since engaged approximately 20 clients and more than quadrupled his original LegalMatch investment.

In addition to his steady stream of family law clients, Burton assists individuals with bankruptcy, credit, and debt negotiation concerns. But Burton is most proud of his volunteer work with CRASH (Citizens for Reliable and Safe Highways), a nationwide, grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to improving truck safety on U.S. highways. In the early 90’s, Burton helped CRASH successfully lobby Congress to limit truck lengths. “It’s hard to put into words,” an emotional Burton recalls. “Walking through the halls of Congress for something I feel strongly about was pretty amazing.” As both a stellar attorney and dedicated volunteer, LegalMatch is pleased to welcome such an accomplished addition to the case study program. And now that Burton’s weathered a rocky start with LegalMatch, he’s ready to ride his recent success into the years to come.
